I was in a bad relationship for a very long time. When I knew that I was finally going to be able to get out of it, I had a really good list of things I didn't want in the next person and what I'd be looking for. The problem that I had was that I needed a way to meet people outside of my area. I found that free online dating was a very useful tool when it came to this part and the best thing was that I didn't have to deal with people that I didn't want to. There are still a lot of creepy people out there but doing things online definitely weeds a lot of them out.

Seasonal Fun
Something that makes me laugh is the silly things my family has bought and never used again. These things are almost exclusively seasonal items and once they are used the one time, it's highly possible that they are never seen again. The last thing my parents bought was an above ground pool. They set it up and we used it one summer, after that all of the pool supplies just sat in the corner of the garage and it was never used again. It makes me wonder why they keep it, but I guess it's good to have in case an urge comes up lol.

Mom Moving Away
Author: Joseph Sandoval
I was really bummed out when my mom moved away last summer. We had always lived in the same town, and I thought that’s how it would always be. I’m glad she met a great man and got remarried, but it’s been hard for me to adjust to not just popping over to her house for lunch, or going shopping with her on the weekends. We’ve always been really close, and since her and my father got a divorce when I was in college, I’ve always been the one to take care of her. I’m glad she was able to find good Wildblue deals and get a home internet connection because now we stay in touch through email and Facebook. It’s not always easy to spend a lot of time talking on the phone with all that goes on in our busy lives. I send her a lot of pictures of the kids too which I know she enjoys. It’s been a big adjustment for me not having her around, but I’m starting to accept it more now. She seems really happy with her decision to move, so that’s what’s important to me.

What to Do?
My BF's dad is a minimalist like him and doesn't want or need much of anything. This puts a damper on gift giving, especially when you want to be creative lol. He loves hiking, hunting, and the outdoors so I was thinking that maybe it would be a good idea to give him a spare set of zamberlan boots. I'm not sure if he would ever put them to use since he's kind of picky too, but the thought is there. I had a chuckle when packages came from them and inside were matching pink/purple Carhart hats for the girls. They already have hats but love them all the same, after all, a girl can't have too many accessories lol.
Sweethearts
One of my friends has been with her husband since high school and it's funny how they haven't really changed all that much. He's still in love with cars and she's still trying to find new ways to create her own businesses. He just opened a new shop lately and she had all sorts of pictures posted online from start to finish. There was the blank garage, then some of it furnished, and in the end there were cars jacked up and they even took pictures of their computers and auto shop software lol (they were REALLY excited). I think it's sweet that they became the "it" couple and hope they last many more years.
Season End
I normally love the holidays but knowing that the TV shows I watch are coming to a season close isn't as fun. I'm not one for cliffhangers and having to wait months to find out what happens next drives me crazy sometimes. In the end, I'm lucky if I don't forget about the show altogether when it reappears lol. My BF is a lot more regimented about those sorts of things and always is sure to catch one as soon as it comes back on, in the meantime he grumbles about how there's nothing to watch. I think one of the shows that's going to bug me over the break is Dexter. I just started watching it this season and now I'm totally hooked, hopefully I'll have some way to fill the time.

Back on Track
As it turns out, we ended up doing pretty well on our christmas presents this year. I was pretty surprised that we were able to get so many great deals so late in the shopping season. Right now we're almost finished and it feels great, not quite as great as it would have been if we were able to start and finish earlier, but I can't complain too much. Hopefully the kids will all love what they get and we will have had yet another successful year.
