I was talking to a friend the other day about my dad and how he died and remembered how much his family squandered me. I know he must have had a life insurance policy because he was ordered to have one by the court but I think he may have put it under his brother's name or something. I never got anything and he had told me there was nothing. That whole thing was such a mess that I never even went to collect any of his belongings because his family is so hard for me to deal with. It's still kind of hard knowing that there aren't many physical memories but that's the way things went. So if you're considering a policy for your family or are told to have one, do the right thing and set it up properly regardless of spite for your ex or whomever.
